Forensic metallurgical analysis of the hardfacing trap that plagues monolithic-shaft shredders (Hammel VB 950 DK, Lindner Urraco 95) in CEE field conditions. When the planetary worm profile wears down, operators must field-hardface the flights in-place. Dirt, frost, and the absence of certified argon welders break the tempered steel thermal regime, seeding micro-cracks in the shaft body.
