DOPPSTADT Inventhor machines use a single-shaft rotor with fixed Dopp-Lock teeth and a stationary comb bar with hydraulic damper (Breakaway comb). When pressure exceeds the threshold, the comb swings open up to 90 degrees to pass uncrushable elements. This protection mechanism is fatally flawed for C&D waste: rebar, wire, and geotextile wrap around the drum in a phenomenon known as the Wrapping Effect. Furthermore, the constantly opening comb drops oversized concrete chunks directly onto the output conveyor, destroying granulometric control of the output fraction. ARJES Impaktor 350 EVO II uses twin asynchronous shafts that ruthlessly cut rebar into fragments, completely eliminating the wrapping problem. Fraction control is ensured by easily interchangeable Sieve Baskets and mechanically adjustable side combs.
DOPPSTADT Dopp-Lock tooth replacement is relatively fast, but on hard abrasive material (concrete, C&D waste) tooth wear (L, M, XL sizes) reaches catastrophic proportions. The cost of a tooth set per 1,000 moto-hours makes single-shaft machine operation on C&D waste economically unjustifiable. ARJES solves this through modularity: Paddle shafts are installed for MSW and biomass, while specialized Concrete shafts handle construction waste. ARJES concrete shaft wear is 3-4x lower than Doppstadt point-tooth erosion. Shaft interchange takes 1-2 hours, converting one machine into a dual-purpose tool and eliminating the need to maintain a separate equipment fleet.
The DOPPSTADT Inventhor primary technological argument is the VarioDirect Drive, a patented hydro-mechanical planetary gearbox enabling startup under load, speed variation, and reversal while keeping the diesel engine at its optimal torque curve point. The Inventhor 6 (MTU 6R1000, 260 kW / 354 HP) shows impressive fuel consumption of approximately 17 l/h. However, VarioDirect is an ultra-complex, sensitive assembly. Repair or replacement costs are comparable to purchasing a used shredder and require weeks of downtime plus dealer-specialized equipment. ARJES uses classic, highly reliable hydrostatics that can be repaired by a standard enterprise mechanic without dealer special tools.
The DOPPSTADT Inventhor 6 excels on green mass and clean wood but catastrophically fails on reinforced concrete with rebar. Its Breakaway comb protects the rotor at the cost of output fraction quality. The ARJES Impaktor 350 EVO II delivers absolute universality: switching from Paddle to Concrete shafts in a couple of hours transforms it into a dual-purpose machine. Sieve Baskets (0-100 mm and others) guarantee strictly defined output product size. The SCU (Smart Control Unit) precisely doses hydraulic pump delivery. Fuel consumption of 14-20 l/h depending on material density is competitive with VarioDirect while maintaining dramatically superior C&D capability and drastically lower transmission repair risk.
